Hikvision ColorVu smoke detection cameras, pre-configured for your site

Woodcock AI supplies Hikvision ColorVu turret and bullet cameras pre-configured for AI smoke and fire detection. They arrive set up, can trigger sirens and link to a fire panel, are UKCA, CE and US certified, and are sold direct or through installers. Already have cameras? The same detection works on any RTSP or ONVIF camera.

Turret or bullet: which Hikvision smoke detection camera should I choose?

Both are standard Hikvision ColorVu cameras, pre-configured by Woodcock before they ship. ColorVu cameras are built to show colour at night, which helps when you need to see what an alert is about. The difference is the view each one suits.

Turret

Best for shorter-range and under-canopy views: eaves, bays, bale stores and loading areas. Compact and easy to angle under a roof line.

Bullet

Best for long, open views on poles and walls: yards, stockpile rows and perimeters. The sun shield helps on bright, south-facing walls.

What does “pre-configured” mean?

The cameras are set up for the Woodcock AI platform before delivery. After the site assessment we agree the views with you, then draw polygon zones round the areas that matter and set a schedule for each camera, so the system knows where to look and when to alert. On arrival, the cameras are mounted, connected to the network and added to your site.

For a quick start, the cameras pair with the Woodcock setup box, a small unit that brings the site onto the Woodcock AI platform. Plug it in, add your cameras, or let us set it all up for you.

How does it detect smoke and fire?

Woodcock AI analyses the video from each camera for the visual signs of smoke and flame, then raises an alert with a short clip so your team can check what is happening before acting. Two things keep false alerts down:

  • Polygon detection zones limit detection to the stockpiles, bays or containers you choose, leaving out roads, chimneys and steam vents. How polygon zones work.
  • Self-learning AI learns each scene, including dust, weather and lighting, and every alert has a feedback button that goes into retraining. About self-learning AI.

It is an early visual warning across open areas. It does not replace your fire detection and alarm system; it complements it and supports your fire prevention plan.

Can the camera trigger a siren or our fire panel?

Yes. As well as app alerts with a clip and email alerts, a smoke or fire detection can trigger a siren on site and link to a fire panel, so it fits into the procedures you already follow.

Can I keep my existing cameras instead?

Yes. You do not need new cameras for smoke detection. Woodcock AI connects to your cameras or recorder over ONVIF or RTSP and adds the same smoke and fire detection. See AI smoke and fire detection for existing CCTV and the Hikvision RTSP set-up guide. The pre-configured cameras are for new or extra coverage of high-risk areas.

Where are these cameras used?

Mainly on outdoor and semi-open sites where point smoke detectors cannot reach: waste and recycling, scrapyards, skip hire, solar and battery storage and warehousing. Comparing options? Read how to choose AI fire detection software.

Can I buy through my installer?

Yes. The cameras are sold direct and through installers. Installers can resell them as part of our white-label partner programme.
