For business sites adding AI detection—not a generic domestic fitting service.
CCTV installation for an AI-enabled business site combines suitable camera coverage with detection setup and commissioning. Woodcock AI assesses existing RTSP or ONVIF cameras first, adds coverage where needed, and can design, supply and install the required cameras directly or with your existing installer.

Add AI to existing CCTV, or include cameras where needed
Start with the view, not the number of cameras in a package. A business may have a useful recorder and cameras but still lack a clear view of a gate or stock area. Another site may already have suitable coverage and need stream access and AI setup rather than new physical works. The assessment separates those cases before the scope is agreed.
Survey finding and the next decision
Finding
Action to assess
Suitable, accessible camera view
Reuse the existing camera for the agreed detection.
Poor angle or limited night detail
Assess adjustment, lighting or a more suitable position.
Coverage missing
Design additional camera coverage for the intended area.
Closed or unreachable stream
Arrange technical assessment before assuming it can connect.
Software cannot see around a building or through an obstruction. Retaining cameras is useful only where their views suit the intended risk. The camera placement guide helps frame coverage questions without replacing a site-specific survey.

What Woodcock can help you put in place
The service can include a site survey, coverage design, required camera supply and fitting, AI configuration, commissioning and handover. Your proposal records which elements are needed and who carries them out. For the actual stages and deliverables, follow the survey to go-live process rather than treating this overview as a works specification.
Detection selected for the risk
The supported choices are smoke and fire, humans and intrusion, vehicles, and PPE limited to hi-vis and hard hats. Select them against what each camera can see and the site’s operational needs. The AI CCTV product overview explains these capabilities and their limits. Connecting a camera alone does not establish detection suitability.
Edge server or cloud
Detection runs on an edge server or in the cloud. An edge deployment needs local hardware, power and network access; a cloud deployment needs a suitable connection for the streams. Remote app and email notifications still need connectivity. Review camera compatibility and processing and use the bandwidth and storage calculator as planning aids, not universal acceptance thresholds.
Watch the coverage decision film
Picture-lock review · captions · no voiceover yet. Page-specific demonstration material, not a record of a customer installation or measured performance.
Captions and the HTML transcript provide the prepared narration while voiceover is pending. Detection areas do not mask recordings; assess every view and keep human review in place.
Do we need new cameras? Often, no. Woodcock AI works with most existing RTSP and ONVIF cameras, so we start by assessing the ones you already have.
Each view gets one of three decisions. Reuse it, where the view is already suitable. Adjust it, if the angle or the night image is poor. Or add a camera, where coverage is missing.
So who fits the cameras? Your existing installer can stay involved. Where new cameras are needed, Woodcock can design, supply and install them, directly or alongside your current installer, and we configure the AI.
Next, we agree what each camera should detect: smoke and fire, people and intrusion, vehicles, or hi-vis and hard hats. Then we draw polygon areas, set schedules, and run detection on an edge server on site, or in the Woodcock AI Cloud.
To start, book a site assessment, or a live test on two or three of your cameras for about a fortnight, where they're suitable. An on-site demo is available too.
Woodcock AI works alongside certified fire alarms and other required safety systems, never instead of them. And remote alerts need a connection to reach your phone.
Your existing installer can stay involved
Woodcock AI is sold through installers and directly. If an installer already maintains your cameras, tell us at the assessment. Physical works, stream access, analytics configuration, commissioning and support can then be allocated explicitly. There is no need for a business customer to join a reseller programme simply to enquire.
Alternatively, Woodcock can scope design, supply and install work for the site. Availability and practical support arrangements need confirmation against your location and requirements. Being UK-based does not imply a fitting team in every area or country. For the installer’s own commercial route, see the installer and reseller programme; for your project, use the customer assessment or quote route.
Assess the actual picture

Cameras, areas and alerts—not just hardware
Once a suitable picture is available, manually drawn polygon detection areas identify the part of that picture that matters. A yard boundary can exclude passing road activity from the configured detection area. Polygons are not privacy masking and do not mean footage outside the area is removed. Per-camera schedules determine when the selected alerts are active.
Site feedback informs self-learning through retraining, with human review and ongoing checks still needed. Woodcock AI has years of development behind it and is now in market with real traction. That experience does not remove the need to test each site, or justify a promise of perfect detection.
Where additional cameras are needed, pre-configured Hikvision ColorVu turret and bullet options can be included in the proposal. See camera supply options for the product route. Hardware selection follows the coverage requirement; it should not be taken as proof that the AI runs inside a camera or that the whole safety arrangement is certified.
Check the site before committing to a rollout
Assessment checks intended events, day and night views, obstructions, network access, local routines and alert recipients. Share known constraints early, including access restrictions or planned layout changes. Unknown camera details are not a reason to postpone the initial conversation; technical access can be arranged securely later.
Request an on-site demo or a live test on your cameras. Subject to suitability, the live test connects 2–3 prospect cameras for about a fortnight, with agreed conditions and reviewers. It is an opportunity to evaluate actual views, not automatic acceptance for every camera or a guarantee of installation timing. Request your installation quote for the information that starts a site-specific proposal.
A visual-warning layer alongside your safety arrangements
Woodcock AI adds visual warning and human review. It does not replace alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, doors, signage, training or certified detection. The site’s people and response arrangements still decide what to do when an alert arrives.
Siren or fire-panel connections can be considered within an assessed integration scope and tested appropriately. A connected output is not whole-system safety approval. Agree commissioning records and responsibilities before handover, with the site’s existing protections and procedures kept in place.
Installation questions
What does CCTV installation include?
For a business site adding AI, scope can include assessing camera views, planning coverage, supplying and fitting required hardware, connecting streams, setting detection areas/schedules, commissioning and handover. Your proposal identifies what is needed and who carries it out.
Do I need new cameras?
Not always. Woodcock AI works with RTSP or ONVIF cameras; view suitability still needs assessment. Existing cameras can be reused where they cover the intended risk clearly.
Can my current installer do the work?
Yes. Woodcock AI is sold directly and through installers. We can work with your existing installer or scope a design, supply and install service.
Is this a home CCTV fitting service?
This service focuses on business sites adding AI detection and the camera coverage it needs. Tell us about the site so scope can be confirmed before work is agreed.
Do you cover my area?
Woodcock AI is UK-based and works directly and through installers. Share your site location and requirements so practical installation/support arrangements can be confirmed. We do not imply an office or fitting team in every area or country.
How long does installation take?
It depends on existing usable cameras, access, hardware, cabling, network and integrations. The site-specific proposal explains the stages and expected timing.
Can I test AI before installing more cameras?
Ask for an on-site demo or a live test on your cameras. Subject to suitability, a live test connects 2–3 of your cameras for about a fortnight so your team can review results on actual views.
Can it trigger a siren or connect to a fire panel?
These can form part of the assessed integration scope, planned and tested appropriately. They do not make Woodcock AI a substitute for certified detection or other required safety measures.
Woodcock AI adds visual warning and human review. It does not replace alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, doors, signage, training or certified detection. Remote notifications still need connectivity.
